The unique educational system of Kyoto Career College of Foreign Languages (KCCFL)develops students' Japanese abilities.

KCCFL is affiliated with Kyoto University of Foreign Studies(KUFS).

  • KCCFL has inherited a proven educational system and knowledge acquired by KUFS over the last 70 years, and provides high quality education.
  • Students will acquire useful Japanese language skills which will aid them in future study, personal life, and workplace.

  • It is not enough to learn only the basics of Japanese language. You also need to learn practical Japanese, which will be useful in your daily life and beneficial for your future, whether for personal usage or in the work place.
01Due to our curriculum and the small size of our classes students can study under the best possible conditions.
  • Classes are divided into levels of difficulty in order to accommodate the varying strengths and weaknesses of different students. Teachers offer one on one guidance so that students can maximize their learning most efficiently. Moreover students have many opportunities to learn about Japanese society and culture.
  • One class consists of about 15 students and classes are divided by levels of the students' ability. Therefore, we can study at our own pace, and small class size make it easier for us to ask the teachers questions.
02Every year, many of our graduates are accepted into universities, often as 2nd or 3rd year students due to the universities' recognition of KCCFL's degree in Japanese.
  • We offer special preparation courses and support to students wishing to enter universities. What is more, students can enter KUFS preferentially where no entrance test requirement is necessary.
We also give support to students looking for work after graduation.
  • I advanced in my Japanese language ability at KCCFL and was accepted by a university as a third year student.
03Study in Kyoto where you can explore Japan's traditional culture and history.
  • KCCFL is situated in Okazaki, Sakyo-ku, which is well known as an educationally and culturally rich area, and you will have plenty of opportunities to get accustomed to Japanese tradition and culture. It is the best location for students learning Japanese.
  • Because of the nature, traditional architecture and sense of rich cultural heritage, I love studying at KCCFL in Kyoto!
04Scholarships are available.
  • A scholarship (Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students) is offered to deserving students. Students also get student discounts on commuter passes and train tickets.
  • The scholarship program allowed me to spend my free time entirely on study and I didnʼt need to do any part-time work.

As well as learning Japanese, students will study a wide variety of subjects such as English, computer literacy skills, Japanese society and culture.

1 Students will receive an Associates of Vocational Arts Diploma authorized by the Japanese government after completing their full time two year course, which begins in April.
2 There are two school terms in one year.
3 Classes are offered from Monday to Friday, five days a week.
4 The duration of one class is 90 minutes.
  • When I studied in a Japanese language school before I entered KCCFL, their curriculum focused mainly on conversation skills, but in KCCFL I am able to study Japanese expansively including grammar, reading comprehension, composition, etc. I also found it interesting to study Japanese current affairs through Japanese TV news programs and newspapers in class.
  • I studied Computing and Business Writing at KCCFL in addition to the Japanese Language. The skills I learned in these classes are very useful in my present job.
